Providing a password

When registering in the Nexius system, you need to provide a secure password along with your username. This password protects your user account and is required for every login.

In addition to your password, your account can be further protected by two-factor authentication. (–> Two-factor authentification)

What is a secure password?

The Nexius system monitors the strength of the passwords entered during registration (or password change) and classifies them according to their length and the number of characters they contain (upper and lower case, numeric characters, special characters). You will receive feedback about the strength when you enter your password.

To keep your account secure, we recommend that you follow these guidelines when choosing your password:

  • The password should not match your password in any other system,
  • it should not contain any personal data (name, date of birth),
  • and it should contain not only upper and lower case letters, but also numbers and special characters (e.g. punctuation marks)!

For added security, use a trusted password manager to store your password.

What should I do if I forget my password?

If you have forgotten your password, you can request a new password on the “Request new password” page by clicking on the link “Forgot your password?” on the login page.

How can I change my password?

You can change your password on the “Change Password” page. In the Student interface, click on the Profile menu item indicated by your name, select “Change Password”. You can then modify your password in the Change Password section of the Profile page that appears. (If your name is not clickable, you have been automatically registered and cannot change your password.)

Attention! If previously set, the system will also require two-factor authentication in the event of a forgotten password or a password change.
